Biderman, Finn, Beekhuizen & Associates (Pty) Ltd was founded by Ervin Biderman in Johannesburg in 1955. From a single shared office with few resources, the Consulting Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Practice – now known as BFBA Consultants (Pty) Ltd – enjoys nationwide representation through five seperate entities, namely:

• BFBA Consultants Johannesburg (Pty) Ltd
• BFBA Consultants Pietermaritzburg (Pty) Ltd
• BFBA Durban Consultants (Pty) Ltd
• BFBA Mechanical & Fire Consultants (Pty) Ltd

The  BFBA Consultants Cape Town Office or as it is known since 2015, BFBA Consultants Cape Town (Pty) Ltd has been operating in Cape Town since 1979. Ralph Thomas, the current Executive Director, has been heading up the Cape Town Office since 1998. After operating from the office at 16 Bree Street for 15 years, BFBA Consultants Cape Town moved to the 5 St Georges building.
